What We Look For In Our PPM Montreal Modeling Agency Auditions
We look beyond height and appearance. While we specialize in petite models under 5’6”, our focus is on qualities that make any model, at any size, stand out in a meaningful way:
Presence: How you carry yourself in the room matters. We want to see confidence that feels natural, not forced.
Professionalism: Punctuality, respect, and clear communication show us you are serious about your career.
Self-awareness: Understanding your strengths and areas for growth helps you grow with us.
Authenticity: Being genuine and true to yourself is more powerful than trying to fit a mold.
Inner stability: Modeling can be demanding; we value emotional balance and resilience.
We want models who are ready to represent our agency’s values both on and off the runway.
How to Prepare Your Mindset Before Our Auditions
At Petite Projection Models, we are not looking for perfection. We are looking for presence, authenticity, and the willingness to grow. Your mindset doesn’t need to be “perfect” before you arrive. It simply needs to be open, grounded, and real.
Here’s how to approach your audition mentally:
Focus on authenticity, not performance: You don’t need to impress us by being someone else. We want to see you, your natural energy, your personality, and how you carry yourself.
Allow yourself to be a beginner: Confidence is not something you have or don’t have; it’s something you build. You are not expected to arrive fully polished. Growth is part of the process, and we support that through our private portal, workshops, and certified training.
Stay present instead of overthinking: Most nerves come from trying to predict the outcome. Bring your attention back to the moment, your posture, your breath, your presence.
Regulate, don’t suppress: It’s normal to feel nervous. Instead of trying to eliminate it, learn to work with it. Slow breathing, grounding, and awareness can help you stay steady without forcing yourself to feel “perfect.”
See the audition as a starting point, not a test: This is not about getting everything right. It’s about showing us your potential, your openness, and your ability to grow within a conscious and professional environment.
At PPM, confidence is developed, not required. If selected, you will be supported through our private portal, workshops, and certified courses designed to help you build both your inner and outer presence over time.
How to Prepare for Your Online Audition (Zoom Readiness)
You’ve already been selected based on your initial submission; now it’s about how you show up live.

Since our Montreal modeling agency auditions are held online, your environment becomes part of your presence. Preparing your space is just as important as preparing yourself. Here’s how to set yourself up professionally:
Device & technical setup: For your audition, we recommend using a laptop whenever possible, as it provides a more stable and professional setup. Please make sure your Zoom application is downloaded, updated, and working properly before your scheduled time. If you don’t have access to a laptop, a phone is absolutely fine. However, it must be properly positioned; use a stand or stable surface so your camera remains steady. Avoid holding your phone in your hand during the audition. We consider how you prepare and present yourself. Your setup reflects your readiness, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Create a clean, simple background: Choose a neutral, uncluttered space. A plain wall is ideal. This keeps the focus on you, not your surroundings.
Use natural lighting whenever possible: Face a window or place light in front of you (not behind). Avoid sitting with a bright window behind you, as it will darken your face.
Check your camera angle: Position your camera at eye level. This creates a more natural and confident presence. Avoid angles that look up or down at you.
Test your audio and eliminate distractions: Make sure your microphone is clear and that your environment is quiet. Turn off notifications and minimize background noise.
Frame your body properly: We will ask to see both close-up and full-body views, so make sure you have enough space to step back.
Log in early and be ready: Join a few minutes before your scheduled time. Being prepared and punctual reflects professionalism.
Simple slate: In frame, say your name, height, and location, as well as anything else our team requires.
What to Wear to a Petite Projection Models Audition
Your outfit should be simple and clean, aligned with our brand’s focus on natural beauty:
Choose neutral colors like white, black, beige, or soft pastels.
Wear fitted but comfortable clothing.
Avoid busy patterns or logos.
Keep accessories minimal or none at all.
Wear simple shoes for the full body frame.
The goal is to let your personality and presence shine, not your outfit.
How to Present Yourself During Our Casting Process
Your presentation includes more than just your look. Here’s how to make a strong impression:
Communicate clearly and politely: Answer questions thoughtfully and listen carefully.
Maintain good posture: Stand tall with shoulders back to show confidence.
Bring good energy: Smile genuinely and engage with warmth.
Be authentic: Share your story and passion honestly.
Show respect for the process: Arrive on time and follow instructions.
These behaviors show us you are ready to work professionally and collaboratively.
Common Mistakes We See in Auditions and How to Avoid Them
Avoid these pitfalls to increase your chances of success:
Overdoing makeup or styling: Keep it natural to highlight your features.
Wearing distracting clothing: Stick to simple, clean looks.
Loud background noises: Make sure we can hear you clearly.
Not Zoom ready: Holding your phone in the car or with a window behind you creates dark shadows.
Being late or unprepared: Plan ahead to arrive early and bring necessary materials.
Lack of eye contact: Practice confident body language.
Trying too hard to impress: Authenticity beats overperformance every time.
Learning from these common errors will help you stand out for the right reasons.
How to Stand Out Within Our Agency Without Trying Too Hard
You don’t need to be flashy to get noticed. Here’s how to shine naturally:
Be consistent: Show reliability in your communication and work ethic.
Stay true to your style: Bring your unique personality to the table.
Be open to feedback: A growth mindset is highly valued.
Support your fellow models: Collaboration builds a positive community.
Maintain your inner balance: Emotional stability helps you handle challenges gracefully.
What Conscious Modeling Means at Petite Projection Models
Conscious modeling is at the heart of who we are. It means:
Self-awareness: Knowing your boundaries and values.
Setting clear boundaries: Protecting your well-being in a demanding industry.
Professionalism: Respecting yourself and others in all interactions.
Inner stability: Managing emotions and stress effectively.
Ethical representation: Choosing projects that align with your values.
We support models who want to build careers with integrity and care for their whole selves.
